The PEICA's mission is to promote counselling services on Prince Edward Island by providing support to the membership.
BCACC’s Diversity Series will take learning in cultural safety, inclusion and diversity, and move it into impactful action in counselling and psychotherapy practice.
It begins in September with a training by Len Pierre on Mobilizing Cultural Safety & Humility in Professional Practice. Len has presented to local Health Authorities, Doctors of BC and the FNHA on the topic of decolonizing practice.
In October and November, Dr. Myrna Lashley will present on Working with Cultural Diversity in the Therapeutic Setting: Theoretical and Practical Applications. Dr. Lashley has presented on this important topic for the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec and she is a leading expert on the topic of Transcultural Psychology in many different sectors.
Three more trainings will be launched in 2022 including one on creating an LGBTQ2IA+ affirming, competent and inclusive practice.
